Custom made lace doilies, lace table runners, and lace dresser scarfs, Christmas mantel scarfs, and Christmas Tree Skirts in various shapes, sizes and colors!

Work in progress......

Here's some pictures to show HOW the lace doilies are made in their different stages. This page keeps growing and growing...because I think it's important that my customers understand just what goes on "behind the scenes" here in my sewing room.

From lace and material...

STEP 1: Pin and sew the lace down into the shape of the doily.

This is what it looks like on the lace side. It's easier to see the sewing from the back side.

STEP 2: Cut the material away by hand with scissors -- no I don't have a machine to do this part.

Photobucket

STEP 3: Finish open corners -- and in this lace's case, there are none. Other laces require that corners are sewed back together.

Of course the last step is to chase Buddy and Abe out of the sewing room so I can clean up all the scraps of material and lace off the floor and start over....he's always under foot keeping me company.

This is the European lace made into a circle -- TWICE the work and sewing when compared to all the other laces.

This is the new White Fancy Lace and my first item with it:

The next two items are really only available at a show -- I don't have them listed in the store, so come and see me!

The next generation to take over??? Well, my grandbaby has a long ways to go, but she loves to sit on the table and to hand me the pins as I pin up the lace and get it all ready.
